A closer look at our production
OUR AMBITION HAS ALWAYS BEEN to produce denim in an environmentally, but also socially responsible way. This includes every step of the production, to the finished product being handed to customers over the counter at the retailer.
We care about our product. How it’s made and the people making it. It’s all in the Nudie Jeans Eco-Cycle philosophy to be responsible all the way. We now release the Nudie Jeans Production Guide on nudiejeans.com, to give people a chance to get more information on the suppliers and subcontractors working with us, but also where the products are produced.
We always make social audits and follow-ups at all of our suppliers, following the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) requirements. Subcontractors are also audited if and where applicable.
WE HAVE PRODUCTION in both high-risk and low-risk countries classified by Fair Wear Foundation. 78% of our production is located in countries with a lower risk of violation of social and environmental conditions. 22% of the production located in high-risk countries.
We are making social audits in all countries we operate in but in the high-risk countries we have a close monitoring and we put extra resources to improve the conditions in the factories. Some of the suppliers in the high-risk countries are also certified with SA8000 certification.
WE ARE PROUD OF our product and therefor take a huge interest in how and where it’s produced and that the people producing it is treated with respect and have the best possible working conditions.
You will find documentation for every unit where audits have been conducted, and where we are in the process of making improvements. You can download a summary of these documents in the production guide.
The production guide is a work in progress and we continuously update information on suppliers and subcontractors.
The Nudie Jeans Production Guide is a first step towards transparency in our production chain.
