Nudie Jeans Dry Selvage

The Dry Selvage programme is a special concept with our best selvage denim from Japan, Italy and Turkey. We have selected the highest denim qualities, denim with cashmere, hemp and organic cotton. This line is our core, the heart of our brand, made for all lovers of Nudie Jeans and dry denims, for all those impassioned fans out there and for all those who understand and embrace the passion of denim.

Selvage denim is produced on oldstyle shuttle looms. These looms weaves the fabric with one single cross thread (the weft) that is passed back and forth, rather than individual threads for each weft weave. As the weft loops back into the edge of the denim it creates a self-edge, better known as selvage.
The edge of selvage denim doesn’t fray like more common denim qualities. Those have separate wefts which leave an open edge that must be stitched. Shuttle looming is a more time-consuming weaving process that produces denim of a tighter weave. This process also results in a narrow, heavy weight fabric. To minimize consumption, the whole fabric is used. This makes the selfedge visible when the jeans is turned up. The colour of the thread in the selvage is often red.

Our four top of the line qualities are delivered in a denim tote bag, containing a special Nudie Jeans selvage book. All dry selvage jeans have the selvage edge coin pockets and silver trims.

Selvage Lab.

Nudie Jeans Selvage Lab is a range of modern collector’s items, inspired by vintage and real worn in jeans.
The LAB jeans have their own personal laundry team, are made in a sample lab and will never go into the normal production line. The LAB garments will all have an individual look, as they do not follow the normal procedure in the making.
All of these unique items are made out of selvage denim. The trims are made of pure silver, all jeans got narrow belt loops and also a selvage lining on the coin pockets.
The Selvage Lab also includes tops – jacket, shirts and tees. These garments are made with the same passion as the jeans. The same laundry team makes the washes and treatments. We only use the finest selvage fabrics for the woven styles and the tees have handmade prints.
