Daniel Larsson: A connoisseur of the art of living

Posted 14 February 2014 in Backstage, Denimopedia, In Our Heads

Daniel Larsson is our Designer Assistant, a title that he likes because it’s nice, but he would rather call himself Collection Developer because that’s what he does. When not helping the Product Development Department create well-balanced collections, he’s an artist. With a gift to see things from a different perspective, he finds dance in pretty much every aspect of life.

What’s up, Daniel?

– I just made my own lip balm. My lips were really chapped and they needed moisture. At home I found a bar of beeswax and I added some extra virgin olive oil. I used it for one day, and my lips are perfect since. It’s also the perfect gift for my friends. Aristotle made lip balm like this; that’s pretty cool.

And you exercise a lot. Tell us a bit about that.

– Sport is becoming a more integral part of my being. Lat fall I started playing football. I hadn’t played since I was 15, and I realized it’s great. I see it as dance, rather than just football. So I guess I’m more of a dancer than a footballer. But think about it. Eleven people moving in sync, trying to score goals, and at the other end there’s a team of eleven dancers moving in sync to keep you from doing so.
A while back I busted my knee and my doctor told me swimming is great. In order to fix the knee I took up swimming and I realized it’s beautiful and also a lot like dancing. It’s very graceful and all about controlling your body.
