Tear it down, build something new – something better part 2

Posted 19 February 2014 in Backstage

Tomorrow we open up the doors to our brand spanking new Repair Shop at Vallgatan in Gothenburg. The new shop is not only way for us to show our full range organic denim, and full collection for each season, it’s also a way for us to convey the idea behind Nudie Jeans.

The concept behind the Repair Shop is deeply rooted in the Nudie Jeans Eco-Cycle Philosophy of break in, repair, reuse and recycle. As a service we offer free repairs on all Nudie jeans. And for everyone who’s not into vintage, worn in denim, we offer a trade-in where people’s well-worn denim are sold as second hand pieces, and become somebody else’s new favorite jeans.

The idea about giving new use to the things that’s been used and loved is consistent also in the interiors of the Repair Shop. The scuffed floors are left untouched and you see movement of previous customers; the walls still have holes from fixtures and faded paint to give the premises a more genuine, worn in look.

The counter and desks are med from old drawers that now serve as easy access, hidden storage compartments. Old, industry lighting fixtures, visible copper tubes and prominent use of fabric and leather; all the new old stuff, the bruises, scars and history of the old store gives the new Repair Shop a rugged, yet warm and familiar feeling.

Join us tomorrow as we reveal the beauty that is our new, magnificent Repair Shop!
