Description

Regular-fit jeans with a high waist and a straight leg.

The Space Black Selvage is crafted from a rigid 13 oz 3/1 twill in a deep, crisp black tone and brought to life by the legendary Italian denim mill, Candiani, located in the green fields of Robecchetto con Induno outside of Milan. We’ve had the pleasure of developing some incredible fabrics with Candiani, and this one fits right in with the others.

This fabric occupies a unique space between the non-fading Everblack and traditional black selvage denim known for high-contrast fades. Woven on vintage Ruti shuttle looms from slightly irregular yarns with medium-long slubs, it is a perfected ring-spun denim with just a touch of traditional denim imperfection. Both warp and weft yarns are indanthrene yarn-dyed, creating a pitch-black denim designed to age slowly and evenly. The weft has been dyed pure black, which surprisingly adds depth to what might otherwise appear uniform, and antique silver trims offer a quiet contrast, further highlighting the rich blackness of the fabric.

Despite its 13 oz weight, the fabric feels soft in its dry state. With wear, time, and washing, it will develop an even softer hand while maintaining its clean, sharp look. As the denim gradually evolves, it offers increased comfort and smooth transitions between deep black tones.

There is no need to rush things - this one ages, but with a black that lasts.

How to return

If you're not happy with the items you received you can return them to us within 14 days (30 days if a member of c/o Nudie Jeans). The items must be unworn in their original condition and with all tags attached. You register your return by visiting www.nudiejeans.com/returns and in our mission to lessen our environmental footprint, we’ve decided to charge a fee for returns. The return fee for your location is 20 CHF.

It's important that you return your product in the same condition you received it. This means labels still attached, and no visible wear marks. Sealed packages with underwear or socks for which the seal has been broken by you can't be returned.

What is dry denim?

Dry denim, also referred to as "raw" denim or unwashed denim, refers to a pair of untreated denim, which means they have not been washed or bleached. So instead of creating a worn-in look at the laundry facility you break in these jeans yourself. It's a long-term commitment and the outcome will depend on how much you wear them. With time you'll get a personal pair of jeans with whiskers, honeycombs and fading created by your lifestyle.

Below are some tips and tricks to help you with your dry denim journey.

Prevent Dry Bleeding
Dry denim’s deep indigo dye often transfers onto other surfaces—this is called “bleeding.” To protect your shoes from unsightly stains you can:

Cuff your jeans: Roll the hem to create a buffer between your denim and your shoes. This is especially helpful for lighter footwear like sneakers or tan leather boots.
Tape: Taping the inside of your jeans is an efficient solution to avoid dry bleeding. Remember to remove tape before washing!

The First Wash
One of the defining features of dry denim is the fade pattern that develops over time. To achieve sharp contrasts in high-wear areas (like knees and pockets):

Wait at least 6 months before the first wash. This allows the fabric to soften and molds the fades to your unique movements.
Spot clean instead of soaking: If your jeans get stained early on, use a damp cloth to dab away dirt without disrupting the indigo.

Size and Fit
Dry denim starts stiff but will stretch over time, molding to your body. When buying a pair, keep the shrinkage in length in mind. They will shrink when you wash them the first few times.
