Vinny Year Of The Rat

The Year of the Rat denim jacket is our regular fit Vinny. We have used a starchy, neppy and slightly slubby 10.75 oz rigid denim fabric that has a deep indigo tone. To celebrate the Year of the Rat, and any metal fan for that matter, we have used golden brass buttons, red-on-black chest label, gold-on-red jacron patch as well as a gold and red chain stitch embroidery. All of which adds a pleasing contrast to the rather special dark indigo denim fabric. The reason for it being special is not the weft yarns greyish tone, but it is nice and do add to the darkness of the denim. The significant detail is in the indigo-dyed warp yarns. These have been tinted to a copper green tone prior to the indigo dye, giving the jacket a very special way of aging. Where the indigo wears off the copper tint will show, with further wear the tint will also wear off exposing the white core of the yarns. This gives the jacket the exceptional aging property of obtaining greenish to white highlights at the most abraded points. Happy new lunar year!
