Dry, or raw, denim refers to denim that hasn’t been washed after weaving, which is why it’s called “dry.” It has a firm feel due to the starch applied to the warp yarns before weaving. That stiffness is what allows the fabric to crease and form unique wear patterns such as whiskers and honeycombs over time.

What are dry (or raw) jeans?

Raw Jeans, or Raw Denim, are jeans that have not undergone garment washing. Because they haven’t been exposed to water, we refer to them as "dry jeans." But the more common expression is raw denim jeans. The fact is, all jeans - whether they’re a bright baby blue or a deep, dark hue - started out as raw denim. What sets raw denim jeans apart, whether conventional or selvage, is their crisp texture and the untouched dyed yarns. This allows the jeans to age through wear, creating a uniquely worn-in look that reflects the lifestyle of the wearer. The truly unique aspect of our dry denim jeans is their ability to age gracefully, becoming more beautiful the more they are worn.
