Climate action starts at the source of the materials we choose. As the largest peer-to-peer comparison initiative in the fashion and textile industry, the @Textile Exchange #MaterialChangeIndex is driving a race to the top.

It was never rocket science, but just because a brilliant idea pops up, clinging to the spark is never a guarantee. Until it becomes a promise.

Swedish Textile Initiative for Climate Action has just released the most recent Progress Report with data for 2021. The report shares insights into how a majority of Swedish textile brands are progressing toward their climate targets.

Discussions surrounding the climate have been hot topics for a while. But since the overall temperatures are going in the same direction, all players in the textile industry — big and small —need to start acting. Because every one of us shares the responsibility to decrease our CO2 emissions.

In 2018, we aligned our climate targets with the scientific consensus and within the 1.5° c pathway. And now we’re beginning to see our actions take effect. Sure, we got challenges ahead of us, but we’re taking steps in the right direction.

Meet Kalle: a Nudie Jeans fan, frequent customer, and friend for many years. When we reopened the refurbished shop in June 2021, Kalle was invited to check out the new digs and try out the new features. But, more importantly, he won a pair of drys of his choice and a feature user story.

We are proud partners in Mistra's new BioPath research program. Mistra is a Swedish foundation for strategic environmental research, and the program focuses on integrating consideration for biodiversity in the decision-making processes. Being a part of this is, of course, very exciting for us.

The results are in, and once again, we did good! We placed top 10 among the brands assessed in Australia's largest survey on Ethical fashion.

Our planet’s huge, but seriously, we won’t rest until we can offer free repairs forever on all Nudie Jeans for everyone everywhere.
