Regular fit jeans with a straight leg made in organic rigid denim. These jeans are made from a rigid 14.25 oz  Turkish selvage denim. The denim has a deep dark indigo tone, flat surface, and a uniform diagonal structure. With wear and washing the denim will develop an utterly beautiful depth as the surface will fade while darker tones will be preserved within the diagonal twill lines. The tobacco thread at seams adds a subtle contrast while the dark blue back pocket embroidery blends nicely with the deep dark denim. With wear, as with all our dry denim, these jeans will develop a uniquely worn-in look. The contrast between the tobacco seams and the denim will decrease while the dark blue back pocket embroidery will become more evident. 

As with all dry denim we recommend at least 6 months of daily wear prior to the first wash. This is of course only a recommendation. Washing earlier and more frequently also renders great results, but make sure to either hand wash or use a gentle washing machine cycle. As long as you take care of your jeans they will, in turn, reward you with an evolving patina that very well might render the best looking washed jeans you will ever have.

Gritty Jackson Dry Maze Selvage

Regular fit jeans with a straight leg made from pure indigo-dyed denim woven by the almighty Japanese denim mill Kaihara, exclusively for Nudie Jeans. It’s a crispy heavy-hitter, tightly woven, and packed with starch weighing in at 16 oz.. 

We always recommend six months of daily wear for all dry denim. And with Dry Deluxe, we cannot stress this enough. This tightly woven, full-width, heavyweight twill is packed with starch. Washing them too early causes unwanted, sharp contrasting wear marks and vertical lines. If they need a freshen-up, hang outside. Remove stains by gently pressing a damp cloth — no rubbing. Or go for a soak or rinse. When the day comes, wash with the spin cycle set to low, and remove them as soon as the machine stops.

The subtle slubs, the ring-spun warp, and weft yarns give the denim a well-balanced texture with evident twill lines and a rough hand. With wear and wash, you’ll get a satisfying marble texture in unabraded areas and pronounced where there are abrasions with slight yarn slub and salt and pepper grain. When pure indigo-dyed denim ages, the hue turns into a clearer blue. We are excited to offer the Dry Deluxe and cannot wait to see it worn in.

Rad Rufus Dry Deluxe

Loose-fit jeans with a wide leg made from exceptionally well-crafted 17 oz heavyweight Japanese selvage denim. Weighing in at 17 oz this denim is one of the heaviest we have ever used, and with a lively aging property, it is a true testament to Japanese craftsmanship. The yarns for both warp and weft have been produced by ring-spinning of the finest organic cotton. Replicating how coarse slub-yarns could look around the beginning of the 20th century – a result that at the time were considered acceptable mostly for rugged workwear. The warp yarns have been rope-dyed in pure indigo – a dyeing technique that produces a rather thin, yet dark outer layer of indigo while the core is kept undyed. An old technique that is considered to render the best results as far as aging goes. These two irregular yarn systems, the undyed weft, and the indigo-dyed warp have been slowly woven on ‘50s shuttle looms into true denim art. A coarse, thick, and highly textural denim that renders a grainy surface and pronounced twill lines with wear, and which skews and puckers with washing rendering beautiful marble effects. To us the heritage techniques and the ruggedness it renders are key, it is what makes this denim amazing – and it is a true testament to the aesthetics of artisanal-made Japanese selvage denim.

We have paired the denim with tobacco thread, vintage-inspired copper trims, and printed off-white back pocket “embroideries”. These details, the fit, and most importantly the denim pays homage to the humble heritage of the worker’s blue jeans - but to be fair to history we have amped up the weight of the fabric quite a bit.

Tuff Tony Heavy Selvage

Regular fit jeans with a straight leg made from absolutely brilliant organic selvage denim that Kuroki Mill weaves in Okayama, Japan. Warp and weft yarns are ring-spun to a slightly irregular thickness, giving the denim its perfectly imperfect texture. The pure indigo warp yarns are dyed in natural indigo dyestuff extracted from the Indigofera Tinctoria plant. 

We have rinsed the jeans partly to make the indigo bleed onto the white weft yarns, producing a more uniformly deep blue hue. But primarily to create a richer, vintage-like fabric texture with a dull and slightly hairy surface. 

With wearing and washing, these jeans will age from the abrasions that the wearing and the washing imposes, as is the case for any indigo-dyed garment. This denim, however, has a spectacular aging property. The deep blue color will slowly age toward a brilliant blue hue thanks to the pure indigo dyestuff used. The irregular yarns and the vintage shuttle loom weaving technique will render a beautiful salt and pepper grain and slight puckering throughout the denim, resulting in a rich texture where the jeans are not abraded. Where they are exposed to the most abrasion, a clear twill texture will emerge, and the loss of dye will be most significant. The contrasts between these areas - between the indigo hues and the multitude of textures - is what will produce magical beauty.

It is with the warmest of welcomes we greet Gritty Jackson Dry Ace Selvage to our range of selvage jeans. Gritty Jackson is our take on the perhaps most versatile and iconic fit ever - the regular, straight, fit. As such it was inevitable to pair it with the Dry Ace Selvage fabric - one of our absolute favorite selvage fabrics out there.

The Dry Ace Selvage is an utterly beautiful and sturdy 14.2 oz, redcast selvage denim. It is woven by none other than Shinya Mills in Okayama, Japan. The warp yarns have been dip-dyed 20 times in pure indigo, giving the denim its dark, pure indigo, redcast tone. The naturally slubby yarns, woven under low-tension, has produced the perfectly chunky and uneven surface structure, making this fabric hit the very spot where imperfection turns into perfection. And that is by no means without cause, Shinya Mills, being outstandingly great at denim, recreated the Dry Ace Selvage fabric by analyzing the denim of a pair of worn-in jeans from the 50s. Dig that, recreating a dry denim from a washed, worn, and torn pair of jeans – that is some reverse engineering right there! 

Now, this is just the starting point from which the Gritty Jackson Dry Ace Selvage will evolve from. See, we appreciate Dry Ace in its dry state - but in its worn-in - washed or unwashed - state it is marvelously good looking. Gritty Jackson Dry Ace Selvage

Jeans made in dry selvage denim. This one's our heritage, the 13.75 oz. Kaihara selvage that has been with us since 2001. A fabric with the potential to become the greatest looking pair of jeans you ever put on. The fabric is tightly woven and has a right-hand construction with slubby yarns. It has an orange selvage id line, a feature made exclusively for us. We recommend 6 months of hard, every day, wear before the first wash, if not longer. This way you will end up with a beautiful pair of worn-in jeans. It sure is a long time, however, it's only a recommendation. As long as you give them love, the result will be great.

Steady Eddie II Dry Selvage

A 15 oz., pure indigo-dyed, green cast selvage denim, made exclusively for Nudie Jeans by the paragon of Japanese selvage denim. 

This denim holds qualities similar to 1940s–50s loomstate denim. To avoid frustration and headaches, it's been sanforized to keep shrinkage at a tolerable 3%. Like the historical counterpart, we skipped the singeing process to preserve the lumpy yarn-slub and keep the surface fuzzy. 

Emerald is, of course, a reference to the cast, i.e., the added tint of green. While hard to trace in a dry state, it's there, hiding in plain sight, ready to reveal itself. 

Taking these from dry to worn will be well worth the time and effort. The interplay between the jeans and its user eventually reveals the inherent qualities and texture of the fabric and a stunning range of hues, creating a truly unique, one-of-a-kind version of the jeans. 

Breaking in dry denim is a metamorphosis. The interplay between the garment and the user is a spectacular transformation happening slowly in front of your eyes. Over time, with wearing and washing, the indigo fades, exposing the fabric’s texture, and eventually unveiling an intricate span of hues. This creates a unique, one-off version of the jeans.

Lofty Lo Snake Eyes Selvage, Regular fit jeans with a straight leg made in an outstanding, Japanese, dry selvage denim. 

The Snake Eyes selvage fabric is manufactured in the legendary denim-town of Kojima, the very birthplace of Japanese denim. This premium denim is woven on old shuttle looms with weft yarns of irregular thickness. These two factors give the fabric a characteristic uneven surface. - A perfect imperfection.

When you wear and wash the Snake Eyes selvage, you will be rewarded. The denim will reveal a clear red cast, a blue hue, and a marbling structure with a slight salt n' pepper graininess - characteristics that can also be found in fine vintage denim.

Asta is a high waist, loose fit, pant with patch-on pockets. It is superbly constructed with simplistic workwear making - so while the pants are bold in their expression, the fit is refined. Made from absolutely brilliant organic selvage denim that Kuroki Mill weaves in Okayama, Japan.
